LGBTQIA Book Club Adelaide

Book Club is a place to discuss YA books with LGBTQIA characters and/or themes. It’s open to everyone aged 14-24, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We are a homophobia, biphobia and transphobia free zone.

Each month we pick a book and meet on the third Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm to discuss it. Meetings are a mix of formal discussion and informal chatting, with milo and biscuits after.

Book Club has been launched with the help of a grant from James Patterson. If you’d like to attend but can’t source the book, email us at lgbtbookclub@gmail.com and we’ll help you. Upcoming book club picks will be available at each meeting on a pay-what-you-can basis.

Facilitator is Samuel Williams (24), an emerging writer who completed his Honours last year on the representation of LGBTQIA people in YA literature, and will be starting a Creative Writing Ph.D next year on the same topic.
